With the trade deadline a mere day and a half away, there are three names on the tip of Sabres fans everywhere, Ales Kotalik, Tim Connolly, and Maxim Afinogenov.
Trade talk has swirled around these players for weeks now, and the debate has heated up significantly with the fact that the Sabres should be buying this and selling that in order to solidify and make a run.
At todays practice, those three names were on a line together. Paul Hamilton, beat reporter for WGR550 says that at least two of those names could be gone by the time Wednesday afternoon roles around. Lindy could have made that line at practice knowing that the names on the sweaters will change.
At the same time, after Wednesday, teams are not bound by the 23 man roster, and Afinogenov can rejoin the team without a roster move. That is good considering Wednesday should also spark the return of Thomas Vanek.
At the same time, Ruff could also have inside information from Darcy that no moves are going to happen, and Lindy is merely trying to reenergize a line that was good, um two seasons ago.
As the rest of Buffalo sits waiting in the peacefully serenity that is this wonderful time of year (cold and our teams making no moves to get better), so do I patiently wait the press conference where Darcy Reiger claims he has the right pieces of the puzzle.
