Tim Connolly extended, goalie added

The Buffalo Sabres have exteded C for two years, at 4.5 million dollars per season.

Per the Sabres and Connolly, this deadline day deal was the number one decision, and at the end of the day, both sides are happy with the contract.

Fans however, may not be as happy with this contract.  Over the last three seasons Connolly has appeared in 79 contests, but as been an integral part of the team when he is in the lineup.

Also being added to the team today is G Mikael Tellqvist from the Pheonix Coyotes, the Sabres acquired for a 4th round pick.  Darcy Rieger hopes to get Tvellqvist in from the Boston area to join the team as early as tonight.  Tellqvist should be considered a rental player because his contract is up this year.
