With the 13th overall pick in the draft…

Posted by: Tim Redinger

The Buffalo Sabres have selected Zach Kassian with the 13th overall pick in the 2009 entry draft.

One of the more NHL ready players in this entry draft, he may have a decent chance of starting on the team this year, however, with the Sabres do like to have their prospects sit in the wings and mature in the AHL this year.  More than likely we are going to see Kassian start the season in Portland, and make the trip back and forth as needed.  Depending on what happens on July 1st, there is a small chance he is on the roster in the first week of October.
