Jaroslav Spacek could have a new home starting at noon today, when the NHL Free Agency period opens.
The Buffalo Sabres have offered the veteran blue-liner a one year deal, which was rejected by Spacek because he wants a longer term deal.
If the Sabres are serious about wanting to keep Spacek as a member of their back end corps, they need to play the game of offering contracts much better. If Spacek comes to terms with another team today, he will join a very long list of former Buffalo Sabres players who have left because of management inadequacies.
Unless a deal with Spacek can be worked out don’t expect the Sabres to make any big moves today, instead look to see them work out deals with tier two free agents after the holiday spending spree is over.
