Tyler Myers: NHL Bound

You can see the signs all around the top of the 300 level of HSBC Arena.

“Mair’s Office”

“Population Pominville _”

It seems only fair that the tallest Sabre be honored from the top of the arena- maybe name the Catwalk above the scoreboard for him?

By no means am I saying that his name belongs in the rafters of HSBC Arena with the likes of Gare, Lafontaine, Robert, Martin, and Perrault – but it does belong in the same building.

No one knew how long it was going to take the junior phenom to make it to the NHL – and many were surprised by the fact that he was wearing blue and gold on opening night.  No one thought his play was going to start at such a level, when so many players take years to develop in the AHL before breaking in full time.

So it is only fitting to say, who would have thought that into this young season, he is leading ALL defensemen in scoring with two goals, and five points, but he has SOME of the offensive guys beat as well.

I think its a safe bet that Tyler Myers plays for the Sabres long enough to see the Maple Leafs.
