Sabres lose first game in regulation

The Buffalo Sabres did their part on Saturday night to make any Buffalo fan fitful on Halloween night.

After matching the second best start in franchise history, the Sabres put together a woeful effort as Marty Biron eared his 200th win in stylish fashion, blanking his former mates.

While his former back up saw success at one end of the ice, his current teammates left Ryan Miller out to dry.  If you want to relinquish some of the blame off Miller based on the play of the team in front of him, you have to put some blame on Lindy for even playing the Olympic caliber, and league leading goaltender.

With two players on the Sabres down with the flu, and the H1N1 virus wreaking some minor havoc on locker rooms right now, resting top performers is going to be all too important.  The only reason I would have had Ryan Miller wearing shoulder pads last night was in case Lalime got injured.  Having just played Toronto on Friday, it only made sense that Miller be given tonight off.
