Sabres shutout Leafs, regain control of Northeast

With games in hand on everyone but the Senators in the Northeast, the Sabres have reclaimed the top spot in the division.

It is a slim lead that they hold.  For a team that started out with its second best record in franchise history – they have been a .500 team since.  It has been the solid play of netminder Ryan Miller that has kept the team from sinking into a subpar Panther like existence.

The biggest choice the fans of Buffalo have to make this week is what to do on Thursday, watch the Sabres try to hold onto a division lead and increase their chances of making the playoffs, or watch the Bills play a divisional game in Toronto in an attempt to woo a new “home” fan base and either play for a draft pick, or as another “feel good” win for wannabe coach Perry Fewell, who could be coaching for his future job.

As a fan of both the Bills and the Sabres, with only a slight bias towards the boys of winter – I will only channel flip if the Sabres game starts to get out of control, in either direction.

Where will your focus be on Thursday night?
