Sabres Gamenight: Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens roll into town tonight on a very miserable streak.  They are 0-3 in their last three games and were just shutout by the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Ouch.

The Sabres on the other hand are trying to push a winning streak to 4, a streak that has them outscoring their opponents 12-3.  With as miserable as the Canadiens are playing you would think that maybe Ryan Miller might get the night off, but why give away two points when you are fighting for first in the division.  With a win tonight, the Sabres could bounce back into first place.

The Sabres need to hope that the Canadiens losing ways continue until Friday, when the Habs play the Bruins.  It’s tough to want to watch those inter-division games, because you don’t want to see anyone in the Northeast pick up 2 points.  With Montreal hovering around 12th place, seeing them get two points shouldn’t be all that worrisome.

Today is Thursday, and despite the Sabres game Rink Side Rants will still be on after a week off for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The phone lines will be wide open tonight for your calls – tune it at www.blogtalkradio/rinksiderants tonight at 9PM EST – and call in your opinions and rants.  Were talking Tiger Woods, Alex Ovechkin, Gary Bettman, and expansion.
