Sabres Gamenight: St. Louis Blues

So tonights post is a game time decision – had a lot of running around to do.  A rare visit to the city of St. Louis tonight for the Sabres.

Notable scratches tonight – Derek Roy out of the lineup with a head injury and Drew Stafford finds himself in Liny’s doghouse after being demoted and his ice time severely diminished.

Patty Lalime will start tonight, and will hope to turn some good ice time into a W.  In his last two games; he has stopped 62 of 64 shots.  Not bad for a backup goaltender who has to take a demotion to the AHL just to get a conditioning stint in.

Paul Kariya and Keith Tkachuk are two guys you definitely have to look out for, David Perron is on a hot streak after faltering some – keep an eye out for him.

The Sabres had an longer than normal team meeting before tonights contest, probably some extra reveiw of the power play and how to play in the first period – something they would probably love to work on in practice, but the ridiculous NHL schedule prevents them from doing.

Catch us later tonight as we preveiw Olympic Watch – as we creep closer to the International competition, the Sabres had their first player named to an Olympic squad as Hank Tallinder was named to Team Sweden.  Miller and Hecht are set to join him, and possibly one or two more guys.
