Sabres Gamenight: Boston Bruins

Boston comes to town tonight with the hopes of getting over the latest slump that they have been in.
The Sabres look to keep their home game point streak alive.  After beating New Jersey on the return end of a lengthy road trip, the Sabres are now 8-0-3 at home in their last 11 games.

With a healthy roster, Lindy Ruff will re-insert Montador and Lydman into the lineup, both hoping to resurge their game which got them benched in the first place.  MacArthur finds himself back in the lineup as well, and Kennedy finds himself as the odd forward out.
It does not surprise me that Kennedy has been tagged as the last man standing lately.  It makes me think that the inspired play we saw at the beginning of the year was the result of an adrenaline rush that the kid just made the NHL on his first try out.

What could have amounted to another Olympic battle in net tonight won’t come to fruitation, as Miller could have faced off against Thomas, but he hasn’t played well as of late – so Rask will fill the net for Boston tonight.

Despite having a healthy lineup – the Sabres do get to see the return of one fan favorite, well the team won’t see it – but RJ will be back behind the mic tonight, returning to his play by play duties after taking his normal West Coast trip vacation.

Boston will hope that with their emergence from an injury bug comes a remergence back into the playoff picture.  Tied for eleventh right now – a win could put them right back into the top 8.  With a fifteen point lead on the Bruins, the Sabres need two points to maintain the pace of the Ultra-hot Ottawa Senators – winners in their last 8 games.
