It looks like this may be the final year for the current Buffalo Sabres uniform. The team looks to retire the modern Sabres blue and gold for a return to a more tradition style, with the teams current third jersey, a slightly altered version of their original colors, becomes their standard uniform.
Not to be without an alternate jersey however, the Sabres are using this as a potential replacement for their alternate jersey:

This may not be a permanent alternate sweater, as rumor has it will only be used during the 40th Anniversary season.

I hope this is just a proto-type, bc they look like long sleeved baseball jersey’s. The Sabres change their uni’s more often than any team i feel like. Next thing you know they wil lbe going back to the red, silver and black. I do love the color scheme of yellow and blue, just not the scripted writing.
Kevin,
Thanks for the comment. The Sabres have changed their uni’s quite a bit – I am just glad to see them returning to a gold/blue design and scrapping the black and red trend. I would vote for going to a jersey with the original blue jersey with the brighter blue. The new blue is almost dark enough to be black.
This design I posted in merely an artist mockup for what has been described to him, so it can either be right on, or totally different. I have actually seen a couple of different artist renderings.
I would almost have to think there are going to be a few changes to the Sabres jerseys.
The “slug” is staying on as an alternative logo. I have a feeling we are going to keep seeing this logo as a shoulder patch, possibly on the third jersey.
The B with the Sabre through it has been part of Sabres culture since the switch to HSBC Arena and the black uniforms. I would almost like to see a third jersey making this the primary logo.
Only time will tell – it should be pretty interesting. It seems like the Sabres hit one out of the park or strike out miserably with their uniforms.
