Sabres fail to lock it up against Ottawa; Look to do it against Tampa

Tonight the Buffalo Sabres will look to shake off the loss to the Ottawa Senators; and clinch a playoff spot against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Lightning are not saying good night just yet, but have backed themselves into must win situations.  They are on point for a point a game, but would need the teams immediately in front of them.

Ottawa continued to dominate the Sabres, despite some of the guys in Blue in Gold coming to win the game.  The Sabres have one last chance to shake the curse of the Senators before the playoffs start, and its something they might want to consider doing, given the fact that they could face each other in the first or second round of the playoffs.

The Sabres have to get over the point of allowing teams to jump ahead before getting into the game.  As tight as the game was last night, had the Sabres not gone down early, they might have had a chance.

Patty Lalime will play in net tonight, hoping to regain some confidence back, not only in his game, but amongst his teammates, coaching staff, and fan base.  Lalime’s play as of late has been lackluster, and he has caught the ire of the coaching staff (Wasn’t it a goal of the team to get Miller more time off?) and the Buffalo fan base (much to the chagrin of Miller and several other teammates).  Lalime has been a professional through it all, and it will go far with the coaching staff and fans if he can get on some sort of hot streak and win a few games before the playoffs start.  Once the Sabres lock up a playoff spot – you can probably bet he will play a few more times.
