Eastern Conference Quarterfinals 2009

Washington Capitals vs Montreal Canadiens – Can the Caps turn the switch back on after coasting through the final weeks of the regular season? Can the Canadiens put it together for a lengthy playoff run or will they once again turn into Hab nots?  Sabrenoise pick: Washington in 5.

New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers - Brodeur turns into a different animal in the playoffs, but the Flyers play a special breed of hockey that is adored in the City of Brotherly Love; Sabrenoise pick: Philadelphia in 6.

Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins – its too bad the rivalries of the eighty’s and nintey’s don’t exist anymore because this is a classic rivalry for the ages.  The Sabres are still trying to finesse their way to a Stanley Cup and the Bruins are a team that will run them through the boards given the chance.  Sabrenoise pick: Sabres in 5.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Ottawa Senators - Both teams are going to be tired from the get go.  The Penguins are a young team on their third playoff year on the heels of back to back finals.  Ottawa was playing out the stretch trying to catch the Buffalo Sabres in the Northeast.  Sabrenoise pick: Ottawa in 6.
