2010-2011 Sabres Schedule Released

The NHL has officially released the team by team schedules.  For a complete look at the Sabres schedule check it out here.

Some notable dates as I briefly glanced the schedule:

The Sabres will play in 22 back to back situations this season.  Thats just a shade better than half their games.

There are three matinee games on the schedule, Sunday January 23rd against the New York Islanders (3PM),  Sunday February 13, against the Islanders (3PM); and Saturday March 5th against Philadelphia (1PM).

Sunday March 6th against Minnesota is a 6PM start.  Two other March games and one in April will be five o’clock starts.

The Sabres will face the defending Stanley Cup Champions twice in the first week of the 2010-2011 season, they will host the Blackhawks on October 11, and then visit Chicago on the 16.

The Sabres entertain the following West Coast teams this year: Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and the Nashville Predators.

Late night hockey is on the schedule as well, as the Sabres find themselves out of town and across the country visiting Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado, San Jose, and Pheonix from December 27th to Jan 8th.  The only reprieve is a quick shoot back to Buffalo to play the Boston Bruins on New Years Day at 5PM.

108 days and counting………
