The 6’3” 215 pound Cody McCormick was resigned by Buffalo earlier today (Per hockey writer Andy Strickland). In 66 games with Portland he had 29 points and 168 penalty minutes. During the Sabres short playoff run he was inserted into the line up to provide a spark, with his first shift he register a hit or two and an assist as the Sabres scored. In the three playoff games with the Sabres he had 2 assists and 14 penalty minutes. He signed a one way deal for 1 year at $500,000 , and could easily replace Adam Mair. If that is not the plan though, Portland would be more than happy to have his services again. I for one would like to see him with the Sabres next season.
