A New Day Dawns....

And so it begins, the 2010-2011 campaign, as the rookies hit the ice for the start of Rookie camp.  Rookie camp will continue this week, as the veterans start to file in on Friday for physicals and checking in.  Training camp officially opens with Puck Drop 2010 on Saturday with a morning practice, a jersey reveal, and then an inter-squad scrimmage.

If I had to take a venture at a guess, I would say the scrimmage is going to see the new road “whites” play the new alternate jerseys to the delight of the onlooking fans.

Sabres captain is expected to be ready for camp – this is on the heels of shoulder surgery in May.  After the sluggish end to his season last year, he will need a fast start to the season; or Sabres Nation will turn into Bills Nation real quick.

Rookies will continue to hit the ice between 10 and 11; Practice only tomorrow, with rookies scrimmages on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The Friday scrimmage will take place later; as veterans arrivals will hold up the newjacks from hitting the ice.

Probably won’t make it out to any of the rookie camp time schedules; but am looking forward to Puck Drop 2010 on Saturday.
