Beginning the End of an Era

And now the news has been released that Rick Jeannerette and Harry Neale will only be calling home games, with a select road games mixed in.  RJ has been staying at home for the long west coast trips for awhile – but is cutting out most all of the travel from his schedule.  We all know the end was going to come for the long time radio voice of the Buffalo Sabres – but we all hoped he would stick it out long enough for the team to win the big one with him able to call the end of the game.  Who wouldn’t want to listen to that call?

The Buffalo Sabres have given us numerous options in the recent past on who is going to be filling the shoes to include RJs son and Kevin Sylvester.  If changes in the press box are going to change, I would not mind seeing Kevin Sylvester doing play by play and Rob Ray providing color commentary.

It will be interesting to see how the Buffalo Sabres handle the change, RJ has a cult following that can only be rivaled by those who can and do follow the happenings of Sabretooth.

Who would you be interested in seeing/hearing taking over the microphone at Buffalo Sabres home games?
