One Less Passionate Fan....The Loss of a Friend

When I first joined this network, several years ago there was one focus – and that was football.  Then we expanded, and the family grew larger.  Everone knows what a family is.  Eugene over at Broad Street Buzz defines it pretty well.  When you write for Fansided – you don’t just get a URL and off you go.  We talk to each other, we help each other, and we become life long friends, even if the correspondence remains emails, text messages or the random phone call.  Those that travel will look up another writer to catch a beer before a game, or even attend a game together.  These friendships never fade.

Today the Fansided network mourns the loss of one of it’s family.  Last night Susan Lee our Editor, our friend at Ducks Daily Blog passed away.

I never got to meet Susan.  We spoke on the phone many a times, and she was the voice of the Western Conference on Rink Side Rants.  Time zones be damned, a week wouldn’t go by where I would not text, chat, or talk to Sue about hockey, life, or work.  Her boyfriend, another person that I can call a friend is an amazing person also.  Their passion for hockey and life I can honestly say comes unparralleled.  Sue wasn’t the reporting type.  She wrote from the heart and was very passionate.  She cared what other people thought, but would let them know if she disagreed.

My heart felt condolences go out to Michael, her family, and all those that knew her.  Loss is a difficult thing to bear, especially for someone so young and full of life.
