The NHL and Buffalo Sabres have announced the 2011-2012 regular season schedule.
The Schedule can be found on the Sabres Website, or by clicking here.
Highlights on the schedule:
The Sabres open up their schedule in Europe, playing Anaheim and Los Angeles in Helsinki and Berlin, respectively. They start the “home” portion of their schedule, or games played in the United States on Frid, October 14th against the Carolina Hurricanes (why does that sound like a cat coughing up a painful hairball?)
The new Winnipeg franchise will visit on November 8th, 2011.
The Columbus Blue Jackets play host to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday November 25th. I think Mary from Fire That Cannon is holding out for a double or nothing, as she has yet to pay up for a bad bet she made on the final game of the season last year.
The West Coast swing happens the final week of February/first week of March, when the Sabres visit Anaheim, San Jose, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
The schedule favors the weekend quite a bit. All games will be night games, with two exceptions. The Sabres will play the Penguins in a 1230 start, and the Bruins to close the season is a three oclock puck drop.
The Sabres will have to wait until November 2nd to avenge their game six/seven losses to the Philadelphia Flyers.
