September Previews: Philadelphia Flyers

We continue to churn through each team looking for the one writer that can accurately predict how well their team is going to fair this season.  With the parity level the way it is in the NHL, that is pretty tough to do.

Today’s feature team is probably the team that I hate most in professional sports, the Philadelphia Flyers.    In the regular season against the Flyers last year the Buffalo Sabres split the season series, 2-2.  In the playoffs, the Sabres fell to the Flyers in seven games in the first round.

This year’s schedule against the Flyers includes the following dates:

Wednesday November 7 – Home

Wednesday December 7 – Home

Thursday February 16 – Away

Thursday April 5 – Away

While the Flyers are one of the most hated teams in the Buffalo area, I can say that the Flyers writer has become one of my better friends throughout the network here, always eager to spar and joke around with regarding our teams or whatever else may arise.  Check out his assessment of what the Flyers are going to look like after going through a major roster overhaul and reinvention of their team.  Might fair well for them, might far well for the rest of the Eastern Conference who wants nothing more than to add a little red to Orange and Black this season.
