Preseason Game #3: Toronto Maple Leafs

The Buffalo Sabres start a marathon of games tonight in Toronto at the ACC.  They will then come home on Saturday to the FNC to play the Leafs.  Then on Sunday they travel to Nationwide Arena to play Columbus at 5PM.  Full schedule of games to appease your hockey appetite with this weekend.

MSG has picked up tonights game, so you don’t have to worry about crappy internet feeds or radio only.  Game time is slated for 7PM.  Ryan Miller is expected to start tonight, and play the full 60 minute contest.  Jhonas Enroth will have the night off, and he is anticipated as ruling the crease tomorrow night in Buffalo.  Jordan Leopold is scheduled to see his first action of the preseason tonight, as the NHL ready roster starts to take shape.

With a solid defensive corp, and a deep front three, the Buffalo Sabres don’t have many roster battles going on.  This is good for the team, as the veterans are getting the ice time they need to get into game shape.  We will see if that helps them overcome the jetlag of starting the season in Europe.

Jochen Hecht is injured and will not play at all this weekend.

Saturday I am taking my annual pilgrimage to the source of hockey heaven, and will be in attendance as the Buffalo Sabres play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs.   I will be there with my kids and parents.  This will be my sons first hockey game, and I think I am more excited for that than him (he’s 1, and hasn’t experienced hockey yet.  I have no doubt that after Saturday he will be hooked for life).  The wife will be home, she is a healthy scratch for the game.
