September is almost over, fantasy drafts are in full swing, and the arm chair general managers across the country are going over their fantasy lineups for the season, hoping to have bragging rights amongst their friends.
Speaking of fantasy, todays featured team for the Fansided NHL 30 in 30 feature is the Toronto Maple Leafs. It use to be real easy for me to ignore the Maple Leafs. Despite the fact that they were just a few hours North of us, they played in the Western Conference. Lately though, the pain in the ass Leafs invade the arena, ahem – Center, three times a year. Two more reasons not to like that franchise.
This year, thankfully, I only have to deal with Tim Connolly six times, when the Sabres play the Leafs. While normally we worry about the six times Connolly would play for us, this year its only six times because he will be wearing a Leafs jersey. I guess its only fitting that the one player I hate the most, went to one of the teams that I hate the most. While most fans in Toronto are busy planning a parade route right now, the Leafs are far from being a contender, but they may be getting closer to playing more than 82 games this season.
