The Buffalo Sabres start off their season this week against the Anaheim Ducks in Helsinki Finland. We have two oversea games. One considered home and the other considered away. Both will be televised. Then a week off before the home opener against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Boston Bruins started last season overseas and we all saw what they did. This gets me all excited probably, over excited for this season. We can only hope we finish the way they did with Lord Stanley in their possession.
It has been one long exciting off season but, I think we would all like to see our new toys in action. We were over the salary cap going into last week. That was put to rest when we sent Shoane Morrisonn and Ales Kotalik down to Rochester. Kotalik, of course did find a Czech team to add him to their roster so he will be there the remainder of his contract.
This season has a different feel going into it. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s like that we are expected to do well this season. After last season coming back from the losing record after Pegula took the team over in late February. We spent the money, we’ve been through enough heartache now is the time to put up or shut up.
