In light of Patrick Kaleta‘s four game suspension for the headbutt on Philadelphia Flyers winger Jakub Voracek, Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced this afternoon that the club has recalled winger Corey Tropp from Rochester of the AHL.

In 10 games thus far for the Americans, the 22-year old Tropp has 4 goals, 3 assists, 16 PIM and is a -6.

For all of you belonging to the Zack Kassian fan club, the recall of Tropp is the right choice. Tropp has good hands, skates hard, works even harder, finishes all of his checks, and brings a north/south game to the big club, not unlike Los Angeles Kings winger Dustin Brown. Perhaps a little youthful exuberance is just what the doctor ordered for the ailing Sabres.
