Veteran's Day 2011

It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.   –Unknown

For most, it is a day off of work; a day off from school.  An extra day to prepare for the winter weather set to roll in, or to get that extra project done around the house.  For some, its an inconvenience because the bank is closed.  For most however, it is a day to remember the friends, loved ones, perfect strangers.  The mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, who have heard the call of the battle, have responded to the cries of the innocent, the oppressed, and those to taken advantage of by tyranny.

The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and of tyrants.  –Thomas Jefferson.

It has been a long time since the United States has known peace.  A new generation of Americans are growing up thinking war is a norm instead of a last resort. Today is the day that we remember those that have given the ultimate sacrifice.  The day in which we remember, that our freedom, our way of life has been secured for almost three hundred years by men and women who at one point in their lives sacrifice freedoms and privileges, and write the United States government a check worth up to and including their lives.  Today is their day.

Good people sleep peaceably at night, because brave men and women choose to stand guard.  –Unknown.

Happy Veterans Day America.  Never Forget, that the price of Freedom is higher than most can afford.  But there are men and women out there who have paid to the utmost, so that you can be free.
