The Buffalo Sabres lost to the Maple Leafs in Toronto tonight. The entire team managed to accumulate zero points, and lost 2-0.
The roster remained the same. The staff remained the same. The results remained the same.
Even though it was blatantly obvious weeks ago that changes needed to made, nothing has been done. The longer that nothing is done, the quicker any playoff aspirations disappear.
Drew Stafford managed to miss on a golden scoring chance. Minutes later, he shot the puck over the glass – the resulting Leafs power play led to the game winning goal.
Ryan Miller was outdueled by a goalie that many hockey fans have never even heard of. Miller is now 1-5 in his last six starts against Toronto.
Patrick Kaleta was absolutely crushed by Nicolai Kulemin in the neutral zone in the 3rd period, instead of the other way around. He also blew coverage on the 2nd Leafs goal.
The Sabres are now below .500, with an 18-19-5 record. They have only won twice in the last 10 games, and a mere 6 of the last 23. Buffalo has lost their last 7 road games.
Someone please do something. This was supposed to be hockey heaven, not puck purgatory.
