2 in a Row?

Brayden McNabb won’t be in the line up tonight, so the team has recalled defenseman Joe Finley from Rochester. McNabb left mid way through the third period last night, it could be another concussion, but that has not been confirmed yet. The Sabres are still dealing with injuries but played a decent game last night against the Leafs who are ahead of them in the standings. It was a tight game and it looked like the Sabres were going to be in for another loss. They had a two nothing lead 5 minutes into the first period and by the end it was tied. It was a must win and it was good that they finally won a close game. The fourth line really played well and they were a huge reason why Buffalo won.

Now tonight’s game is against the Islanders and they are the last team in the East but don’t let that fool you, they have a few snipers on their team namely John Taveres. Everyone knows his uncle here in Buffalo, but this kid is good and he seems to enjoy playing against the Sabres. He always scores! That is a problem, they need to find a way to keep him off the score card. I’m not sure who the starting goalie will be for the Islanders but my guess is Al Montoya, Rick DiPietro is once again hurt.

If the Sabres can pull off a win tonight on the Island it would be a great way to start off their long road trip. They haven’t been so good on the road in their last 7 going 0-7. They need to turn that around and no better way then tonight against one of the worst teams in the league. It kills your confidence losing to a team that you know you should beat.

Washington won last night which still puts the Sabres 5 points behind them for 8th, they need to string together a winning streak to cut into that lead, maybe gain some points before the All-Star break.
