Detroit is 28-15-1 this season, 2nd in the West. The Sabres are in a tough and desperate spot right now, a 19-20-5 record puts them 10th in the East and 7 points out of a playoff spot. They started off this 7 game road trip on a rocky start with a 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday night. With that loss the team has dropped it’s last 8 on the road, this is not going to get you anywhere close to a playoff spot. The fact that the Sabres keep piling up injuries is not going to help, the most recent coming to one of the teams best defenceman Robyn Regher. With Regher hurt the team had to once again call upon the Rochester Americans for a defenceman, this time TJ Brennan get the call again. It looks like big man Joe Finley will be a healthy scratch. Our blue line is starting to look like the Amerks. The good news is the team may be getting Andrji Sekera back tonight, which would actually help the team out a little.

I’m actually not expecting a win from the Sabres tonight, I’m actually expecting a blowout. The Red Wings have a lot of great players and they are at home, where they almost never lose. But on the off chance that they do win, it would be a huge confidence boost for them. Beating one of the best teams in the league could put them on the right track, they may even be able to string a few wins together. Maybe. Keep your fingers and toes crossed, do a little “Tebowing” if you think it will help.

Check back later tonight for my full game recap.
