Injured Players Slowly Return

As the NHL All-Star Break comes to a close, there’s some encouraging news for Sabres fans regarding injured players.

Tyler Ennis skated with the team today and is expected to return tomorrow in Montreal. Ennis has played just 15 games this season due to a high ankle sprain that’s kept him in and out throughout the season. In those games, he has 3 goals and 2 assists.

Forward Paul Gaustad also skated with the team today, and coach Lindy Ruff said he is a ‘possibility’ for tomorrow’s match-up against the Canadiens. Gaustad missed the past three games.

On the blueline, rookie defenseman Brayden McNabb passed the baseline test today for his concussion. However, he is still expected to miss a bit more time and his return date is unknown at this point.

Forward Jochen Hecht is also still battling concussion-like symptoms and his status is undetermined.

I haven’t exactly been waiting for Ennis’s return. I don’t think it will matter one way or another. He is not big enough or gutsie enough to be playing in the NHL. Opposition player just push him aside as if he were of no consequence.
