Trade Deadline Wagers

You have probably heard the term thrown around here at Fansided quite a bit, both during the regular season and the playoffs.  “Wager”.  I get a running bet with Kristina Kelly every year to further my hatred for the Carolina Hurricanes.  I lost a bet with Eugene Markmen during last years playoffs as his Flyers beat the Sabres in the playoffs.  Even the Columbus Blue Jackets writers get in on the fun, as Mary reluctantly placed a “fake” sabres tattoo on her shoulder to honor a bet.

Most bets have a winner and a loser, and the winner usually gains financially, or in bravado.  This bet, there is only one winner and that is an MS Bike Tour, the charity of choice for Jason Grego from Team1260 Radio Station, Edmonton, Alberta.    In this bet, if Alex Hemsky is traded for a first round draft pick, our Editor at Large Jeff Chapman will make a contribution to Gregor’s charity of choice, despite his thinking that Hemsky isn’t worth a first round draft pick.

Kudo’s to Jeff for donating to the MS Bike Tour either way, most people would have selected another charity for the Team 1260 Radio Station Host to pay to if he had lost the bet.  Show your support for these two worthy warriors of charity by following them on twitter and encouraging their “battle” (@realoilfan and @jasongregor).  And even click the link above to donate to a worthy charity.
