Fansided Five Another Random Look Around the NHL

Another Friday is upon us and as the season heats up, were stuck on simmer here in Buffalo.  Nights like last night make it seem like the pilot light is out and our burner is stuck on frozen.

While the game seemed to be under control with a two – nil lead over the Flyers, the Sabres let 7 unanswered goals in probably one of the complete worst collapses in team history.  Not good for a team that thinks it still has a chance to make the playoffs.  The number of games that this team can afford to lose is getting close to countable on one hand, they can ill afford to be stringing losses together at the rate they are.

With that though, here is our weekly peek around the network.

Winnipeg is making a push for the playoffs as well, and they could fight for one of the final playoff spots in the East.  What a reward for the fans of Winnipeg after waiting en exile from the NHL for their chance at another crack at Lord Stanley.  While there has been plenty of interesting stories to cover, we find ourselves with an editor to cover Hockey at the Forks.  Email us as [email protected] to become the editor, a staff writer, or contributor for the Winnipeg Jets

Chicago was able to snap the skid last night against the New York Rangers.  Will the rumors come true about the ‘Hawks and the Sabres trading home town boys?  Greg Boysen things the Blackhawks can target Miller if the Sabres are willing to trade their starting goaltender without touching their core players, because they Sabres are in need of more than one piece to become a winning team.

While the Carolina Hurrincanes probably won’t win much this year, Jeff Skinner has been honored by Capital Broadcasting as the Sports Person of the Year

We are getting close to the trade deadline, and deals are starting to pass between teams already.  Edmonton and Anaheim passed players yesterday.  Tune into your favorite Fansided site on Monday February 27th for a day long – network live Chat experience moderated by some of our great writers from around the Network.
