The World Championships are underway, and Jhonas Enroth has Sweden holding a lead in the Sweden division, with two wins in their two games. Enroth can be thanked by his countrymen for one of those victories, as he and goaltending partner Viktor Fasth have so far split the two Swedish games.
Enroth started in net for the first game of the tournament for his home country, and turned away 19 shots from the rival Norway team – the only tally he allowed was in the second, but the Swedes were able to overcome and hold on for victory. On the bench for game two of the tournament, he watched his team skate over the Czech Republic for the second victory of the tournament.
The Swedish National Team is not off until Monday, when they face off against Denmark. While we all know the past and present of Buffalo Sabres back up goalie Jhonas Enroth, many in Buffalo may not know about his partner in the tournament, Viktor Fasth – who played in his first international tournament at the age of 28.
