The Edmonton Oilers are inviting in the top rated prospects in the upcoming 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  Arriving today was projected #1 pick Nail Yakupov.  Also expected to visit are #2 prospect and defenseman Ryan Murray and #3 prospect Mikhail Grigorenko.

Yakupov stated today that he wants to go #1 in the draft.  Since Edmonton has the top pick, he said he “wants to play for Edmonton.”  However, that is the politically correct answer for him to say, he would say the same for Montreal or Minnesota.  On Monday, Yakupov was in Toronto for the 2012 NHL Scouting Combine and claims that he is ready to play in the NHL.  There are a lot of things to consider for the Edmonton Oilers this coming draft: should they trade out(possibly with Buffalo) for more picks and some established players, draft Yakupov and add him to their already young and prolific front loaded offense, or should they take Ryan Murray with the top pick in the draft.

Questions will be answered in just 2 weeks.
