Will Lindy Ruff be on the hot seat this season?

With another season approaching some fans are wondering whether Lindy Ruff is always going to be that guy leading this team. In other organizations a coach and/or GM could be gone after a season if the production is not had to the teams’ expectations.

Buffalo Sabre fans have had to deal with one coach for the last 15 years. Everything from a Stanley Cup appearance to a season where playoffs weren’t even close to being an option, Lindy’s job has always been safe. Many wonder why this is the case? The relationship between the head coach and GM we know is strong but if someone else out there can do this job better and lead this team to its ultimate goal how come it hasn’t happened?

Other worries of mine are those that have players, both current and past, talking about how the coach is towards them in a negative way. Problems that occur within the locker room or even out on the ice I think should be taken care of behind closed doors. Lindy it seems has no problem giving the media information that should be dealt with within the organization.

Another thing I think about is why Jason Pominville is the captain of this team? He came out and said that he’s not the guy that will get in other players faces or yell to motivate them. That I believe was well taken care of in years past but now it seems that Lindy wants to take the role by himself. That job is to be the captains in my eyes. He is out there on the ice with his mates and they are working together to accomplish their goals as a team.

Sadly I think for some years to come Lindy isn’t going anywhere. Do I think a change is possible? Yes I do but it would be a big shock. So I guess you can say that Ruff is safe for now but if nothing is achieved in the next couple years you would have to think he has to receive his pink slip.
