In light of the recent Collective Bargaining Agreement Negotiations or lack thereof, I wanted to pose the question of whether or not the NHL players permission to play in the Winter Olympics will be taken away in the next agreement? It is certainly an issue that has been thrown under the rug due to the fact most of the emphasis between the two parties has focussed on Hockey Related Revenues, and how it will be shared amongst the league.
As I pondered this question, I decided to compile my projected rosters for the American and Canadian Ice Hockey squads at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. I also included below the rosters, a list of honourable mentions, as you can imagine both nations had a wide array of talent from which to choose.
Please comment/contribute to the forum below with your input and feedback on my choices, whether you think I left anyone out, or anyone you feel does not deserve to be on the team., etc. Remember that italicized players are replacements for any injuries that may occur during the tournament. Thanks for reading!
