Buffalo Sabres Slated For 15 National Games

Despite not having an agreement with the NHLPA, the NHL today announced their national television schedule – the Buffalo Sabres will be featured fifteen times on NBC networks.

This is the second highest number of nationally televised games throughout the NHL, with only Boston, Detroit, and Pittsburgh each having 2 more nationally televised games.

MSG – entering into the sixth year of the ten year deal to broadcast Buffalo Sabres games, will host 70 games locally for Buffalo Sabres fans.

If you are a fan of the Hockey Night In Canada – eight Buffalo Sabres games will be featured, December 8th at Montreal, December 15th against Montreal, December 22 at Calgary, December 29th at Winnipeg, and April 6th at Montreal.

The nationally televised games are as follows:

**Oct 16 Detroit

*Oct 24 New Jersey

Dec 3 Toronto

Dec 4 San Jose

Dec 17 Montreal

*Dec 26 Washington

*Jan 9 Boston

Feb 5 Los Angeles

*Feb 6 Boston

Feb 17 Pittsburgh

Feb 26 Tampa Bay

March 17 Washington (NBC/NBCSN Flex)

**March 26 Tampa Bay

April 8 Toronto

**April 13 Boston

This is contingent on the NHL and NHLPA coming to an agreement on time and the schedule going off as planned.  This schedule of games will probably change if the CBA is finalized beyond the deadline of September 15th, 2012 and in time to play a partial season.

** Game will be shown in the Buffalo/Rochester market on MSG.

* NBC Sports Network exclusive Game of the Week.

Grats on the extra TV exposure. While I am a Boston fan, I’d like to think that Sabres fans are the nicest bunch of people you can ever disagree about hockey with. Our games this year are going to be intense and I look forward to them.
