Here I sit, on a Sunday night, reading more and more articles about the talks being called off and a lockout looming. I read this after reading several stories about the Buffalo Sabres having 15 nationally televised games this season. 15 GAMES!!

Sure .. the boys in Blue and Gold always have some games nationally televised .. but 15? This is a first for me.  Oh wait, the schedule was released knowing that they may not play. Hmmm, I sense conspiracy.

To make my point .. lets go back in time a little bit .. to game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Triple overtime .. Brett hull illegally steps into the crease before sliding the puck past Dominik Hasek. TRIPLE FRIGGING OVERTIME!!!  .. what happens? .. the ref’s say the game is over .. had the situation been reversed and say, Miroslav Satan or Stu Barnes stepped into the crease and scored .. the goal would have been reversed. You know it, I know it.  6 hours of hockey .. it ended after 3 AM local time .. I woke everyone in my neighborhood up!  The NHL wanted the Dallas Stars to win.  If they didn’t, why did they change the rule about being in the crease a few days later?  No Respect!

I can go on, but you get my point. The league, the other teams, and most other fans do not respect us or our team. So if the owners are serious about wanting more money, let them take a page from the NFL and hire replacement players. Believe me, the games will be very entertaining. Once the players realize that they are not going to get paid and hockey will move on without them .. they will agree to the owners demands .. sign a new deal .. and we can get back to quality hockey.

Please God!  Let everyone get a dose of reality .. and even some mutual respect …
