After a quiet couple of weeks, rumblings are finally beginning again. The NHL and the NHLPA have officially scheduled meetings for three days this weekend starting earlier today.
But before you get to excited that the NHL and NHLPA finally have decided to get together and meet for a bargaining session for the first time since Sept. 12, they will most be covering “non-economic” issues, such as:
- grievances
- system arbitration
- on-ice issues
- off-ice discipline
- drug testing
- training camp
- off-season conditioning camps
- workers’ compensation
- medical
- travel
- pension and insurance
- scheduling
Let’s just hope that more progress is made to at least iron out the minor details.
