There were only two goal scorers for both the Albany Devils and the Rochester Americans tonight at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY. The only problem for the Albany Devils – T.J. Brennan and Brian Flynn put the puck in the net for the Amerks more.
Brian Flynn had a four point night, three goals and an assist. Brennan’s efforts brought him three more points, and Marcus Foligno continued to add to his point per game pace as the Rochester Americans rolled the Albany Devils to the tune of 5-2.
The game could have gone much differently – but Amerks goaltender David Leggio make a great pad save on a short handed breakaway that could have made it a 2-1 game and give the Devils a huge push towards making the hockey game much closer.
Despite a slow and shaky start, by the end of the first period the Amerks were well in control of the game. Two goals from Flynn in the first, Brennan added one in the second and third, and Flynn slid added an empty net goal to earn his first professional hat trick.
Leggio added 32 more saves on top of the shorthanded breakaway – and despite letting in two goals, continues to lead the Rochester Americans from the blue paint.
Rochester now has four nights off as they are not back on the ice until Wednesday November 28th when the San Antonio Rampage visit Rochester.
