Cody Hodgson could be near his return to the ice for the Rochester Americans, which would be a huge lift for the team as they head into the heart of the AHL season. The Amerks will be without him again tonight though as they take on the San Antonio Rampage (Florida Panthers) at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York.
The Rochester Americans will need another offensive explosion similar to their last outing when T.J. Brennan and Brian Flynn put an a scoring clinic, accounting for all 5 Rochester goals in a 5-2 victory. The Rochester Americans have little luck against the Rampage, not having won against the interconference opponent since 2007-2008 when the Amerks beat the Rampage in a shootout.
Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:05 and can only be heard on Sports 1280 WHTK.
The Rochester Americans need to string a few solid wins together, as they trail the Abbotsford Heat by 9 points for the AHL and Western Conference lead; and sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
Despite the fact that the Amerks have been off since almost a week ago, they are in the midst of a home stand which ends with the month of November and a home and home series with the Toronto Marlies.
