While they took all the fun out of doing player profiles by announcing their roster – the one player that they did invite from the Buffalo Sabres camp we have already profiled – Dan Catenacci.

Catenacci is a returning member of Team Canada, having been a member of the U18 team in the past.  This is is first go round with the u20 squad.

Team Canada has invited 37 young men to try out for the team.  Six of the young man are returning players:

Dougie Hamilton

Scott Harrington

Jonathan Huberdeau

Boone Jenner

Mark Scheifele

Ryan Strome

Ryan Murray would have been a returning player as well, but is unavailable due to his injury.

31 players on the potential roster have been drafted by the NHL – including 13 first round draft picks, and eight second rounders.

Good luck to Team Canada as they try to medal in their 15th straight U20 IIHF Championship.
