2013 WJC Player Profile: Jake McCabe

Another Buffalo Sabres prospect has gotten the stick tap from the national team with the chance of playing in the 2013 World Junior Championships (U20).  This time it is the United States of America picking one of the future Blue and Gold.

Defenseman Jake McCabe will be in Tarrytown, New York at the Madison Square Garden Training Facility from December 16-18 as Team USA prepares for the annual tournament.

A second round draft pick in the 2012 NHL Entry draft – McCabe is in his Sophomore season with the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

He is no stranger to international play.  He played in 52 games for the US U17 squad, and appeared in one game for the U18 team.

McCabe has several things going for him as he progresses towards an NHL career.  He has great vision for the game, and can skate extremely well.  He is not afraid to go into the dirty areas of the ice to make sure the plays happen for his team.
