Rochester Americans PreGame Skate: Syracuse Crunch

The Rochester Americans start a four game home stand tonight against one of the top teams in the American Hockey League.

The Syracuse Crunch visit the Blue Cross Arena tonight – and fans itching for to curb their NHL addiction prior to action starting tomorrow can catch the game on the Time Warner Sports Channel.

With Cody Hodgson, Marcus Foligno, and T.J. Brennan called to the big house for training camp and an opening night spot on the roster, captain Kevin Porter is going to have to start relying on some of the veteran prospects to carry a little more of the weight.

One of those players is Luke Adam.  Adam is on a four game point streak, and will have to pitch in and help the offensive void left by the departure of the Rochester Americans top scorers Brennan and Foligno.

Game time is set for 7:05 tonight.  The last time these teams met Brennan led the ice with a goal and an assist in route to e a4-1 Rochester Americans win.

Rochester has inched closer to the top eight teams in the Western Conference.  In 37 games played, they have 19 wins for a total of 41 points.  Only five teams int he conference actually have more wins than the Rochester Americans, so continuing on with winning ways will help Rochester climb the standings even more.  Only two of the eight teams ahead of them in the standings have played fewer games, Rochester has 1-4 games in hand on all teams ranekd 1-8, save for the eight place Chicago and 3rd place Toronto.

There is no need to worry about the teams behind the Rochester Americans, the Amerks have fewer games played or the same number of games played against every team below them in the standings.
