Rochester Americans PreGame Skate: Toronto Marlies

One night after losing to the Albany Devils, the Rochester Americans are right back at it.  This time against divisional rivals, and division leader Toronto Marlies.

The Marlies hold a two point advantage over the Rochester Americans in the standings, and have a one game advantage remaining on the schedule.

A win tonight for the Amerks could pull them within a tie for points, and make it easier for the Amerks to unseat the Marlies.

Last season ended with the Marlies leading the Amerks, but the Rochester Americans were much lower in the league standings.  While the same thing could happen this year, Rochester looks to pass their Northern rivals and claim one of the three top spots in the Western Conference.

The positive storylines coming out of Rochester despite the Americans losing in regulation for the first time in March is the play of Mark Mancari.  Mancari now has points in his last eight games, twelve in total over that span as he continues to lead the Rochester Americans and rise in the standings of the American Hockey League leaders.

Mancari is tied for third in points in the American Hockey League.  He is 28th in goals, his points mainly coming in helpers.

Expect David Leggio to start in net, it will be his 51st start of the season.

Puck drop is at 5PM and can only be heard on Sports Talk 1280.
