Buffalo Sabres PreGame Skate: Boston Bruins

Its an Easter Day matchup for the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins, and the Buffalo Sabres are looking at the end of the calendar as a way to start retooling for next year, and the Boston Bruins are looking towards a sixth straight playoff experience.

Buffalo picked up a meager one point aganist the Washington Capitals yesterday – but with the loss remain in 12th place.

Just three points seperate the Buffalo Sabres and the playoffs – the eighth place New York Rangers have only 35 points.

The biggest problem for the Buffalo Sabres in chasing eighth is the fact that teams ahead of them have games in hand.  In fact, teams below them, same for the Florida Panthers who have games in hand as well.

Boston on the other hand trails the Montreal Canadiens for the Northeast Division lead – a lead that only stretches 3 points.

For some reason this season, despite their shortcomings against other teams, the Buffalo Sabres have had the number of the Boston Bruins, and have outscored the Bruins 12-9, including a 7-4 thumping earlier this season.

Game time is scheduled for 7:30 – and we can expect Ryan Miller back in net after seeing Jhonas Enroth against the Capitals.

Buffalo Sabres leading scorer is still questionable, and could go today, but interim head coach Ron Rolston has said despite being on the ice, he is not where he should be.
