Rochester Americans PreGame Skate: Lake Erie Monsters

With the Buffalo Sabres and Rochester Americans both with games, its a hockey filled night.  The Rochester Americans are taking on the Lake Erie Monsters.

The Monsters, American Hockey League affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have had no luck against the Amerks this season, with Rochester looking for the season series sweep of the Monsters, and outscored them 26-16.

This might be the first chance for Buffalo Sabres fans to get a look at new center Johan Larsson – who came over to the team in the Jason Pominville trade.  Larsson could get the nod tonight and enter the Rochester lineup.

Rochester currently sits in fifth place, and is five points behind the Charlotte Checkers for fourth place, and seven points behind second place Toronto.  Lake Erie sits in 12th place, and has little hope of making the Calder Cup playoffs.  Lake Erie could max out with points at 82.  The current eighth place Chicago Wolves has 75 points, so the margin of error for the Lake Erie Monsters is very slim.
