Mikhail Grigorenko To Be On Buffalo Sabres Roster Next Year

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

According to John Vogl of the Buffalo News, Mikhail Grigorenko will be on the Buffalo Sabres roster full time next season.

If you look at the Buffalo Sabres pivot position, that locks in two spots, Steve Ott, and Mikhail Grigorenko. The question will be now, who will center the other two lines?

Cody Hodgson remains without a contract, but I have no doubt in my mind that the Buffalo Sabres will tender him an offer and keep him in the fold. Thats three starting centers that will lead this team into the future. If the Buffalo Sabres have their eyes on another center in free agency – Hodgson may be the odd man out.

Who will the fourth centerman be? Zemgus Girgensons could be ready to make the leap from the Rochester Americans – do you want his skills to be wasted on the fourth line?

Hodgson and Grigorenko should be your number one and two guys, and Steve Ott can be interchanged into the third or second line. Ott could also get fourth minute lines.

One year ago today we were struggling to figure out what the Buffalo Sabres were going to do at the center position, now it seems as if they have a solid depth to rebuild around.

    Wat about ennis

Ennis is being moved back to the wing, I believe. Which is where he ought to be.

you do not know hockey if you think CoHo is the odd man out…

ott prefers to play the wing… girgensons has played wing also but can start out on the third line… ennis isn’t really a center IMO so he can also play the wing…

guys like on the verge of being a break out star and he’s the odd man out? lol

    • Matt Nolan

I beleive he said that because Cody hasn’t signed a contract also his defensive play is lacking great 2nd line center

A break out star? A one dimensional player/center that’s afraid to sit in front of the net. I’m not saying hes bad but no way star
