Buffalo Sabres Announce 2013-2014 Regular Season Schedule

Sharpen your pencils Buffalo Sabres Fans – the 2013-2014 regular season schedule is here!  The Sabres will start the regular season in Detroit against the new division rival on Wednesday October 2nd at 8PM.  75 days until the start of hockey season!

The team will open up the home portion of the schedule on Friday October 4th, against the Ottawa Senators.

The team will play the final game of the season on Sun April 13th against the New York Islanders.

Only four games this year occur before the dinner hours, with games against Calgary, Washington, Colorado, and Boston as afternoon matinees.

The team will take their Olympic break, playing the Ottawa Senators on February 6th, and returning to the ice on February 26th to take on the Boston Bruins.

The team will play on back to back nights a franchise low 13 times this season.

Following the league-wide conference realignment that was agreed upon this offseason, Buffalo will play their 82-game schedule with the following breakdown: 30 games against divisional opponents (five games vs. two teams and four games vs. five teams, with teams rotated on a yearly basis); 24 games against non-divisional opponents in the Eastern Conference (three games vs. each team); 28 games against non-conference teams (two games vs. each team).

Buffalo has one stretch of late night West Coast games, with 10:30 and 10:00PM start times.  November 5, 7 and 8, when they visit San Jose, Los Angeles, and Anaheim.

    Two things; They are on NBCSN alot and I can’t believe they will according to what you said, play their fewest back to backs this season. You would have thought with the crammed schedule they would have had a bunch.
