The Buffalo Sabres have signed Matt Hackett, and Luke Adam.  Cody Hodgson and Corey Tropp remain unsigned restricted free agents.  Will they be signed to offer sheets, by the Sabres, or holdout to start the season.

Orientation camps are starting to take shape for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.  Has your favorite player been tapped to represent their home country? [New York Times].

The new alignment of the NHL has all fans complaining still.  When will the NHL get it right?  Probably never, but by December the Metropolitan division will have the same ring as the other divisions.  [SB Nation].
