Gah.

It’s raining where I am on this less-than-splendid Sunday, which defeats the purpose of having summer vacation.  If it’s going to rain half of the summer, keeping me indoors, well then we might as well just skip summer altogether and go right to fall, which is when NHL and Buffalo Sabres hockey begins!

Onto the links.

Ah, Toronto!  They love their hockey up there . . . but sometimes, the Maple Leafs are kind of kooky.  Stu Hackel takes a look at how the Leafs are attracting attention this offseason. [Sports Illustrated]

Speaking of the Leafs: is Phil Kessel the player around which Toronto should be rebuilding?  [Bleacher Report]

How should the rebuild in Buffalo take shape?  And how long can we expect the rebuild to last?  Kevin Freiheit over at Hockey Buzz has some ideas.

Here’s a look at why the salary arbitration hearing is dying a slow, painful death. [Puck Daddy]

Having said that, here’s a look at a salary arbitration case set to take place in – surprise! – Toronto!  [TSN]

Finally: how much would you pay for a hockey stick?  What if it once belonged to Wayne Gretzky?  Better still, what if it was the stick that he used to score his 1000th goal when he was a mere 13 years-old?  [Puck Daddy] What, am I supposed to be impressed by that?

Ha!  Enjoy!
